Oregon Independent Film Festival News

This year the Oregon Independent Film Festival (OIFF) is bringing our collection of new independent films across Oregon again this year from September 17 - 23, 2014.

With festival screenings and events in Portland at Cinema 21 and the Clinton Street Theater and in Eugene at the Bijou and Metro cinemas, with more surprise screening stops to be announced.

The most recent Oregon Independent Film Festival featured over 75 films from over 14 countries, screened over two weeks in independent cinemas across the great state of Oregon USA.

OIFF Films Include:

The Immortal Augustus Gladstone:

From the director of the video games Myst and Riven comes this feature film that combines elements of horror with a comedic touch to make subtle and powerful dramatic messages. A truly independent film.

West Is West & East Is East:

Ayub Khan-Din's personal, humorous and moving film about Zahir "George" Khan. These films are comic masterpieces about tradition, immigration and culture clash.

OIFF Documentary Programing proudly features the following films:

A Beautiful F*king Experience:

OIFF is proud to have the first theater screening of this documentary on the band The Flaming Lips and their Guinness World-Record-Setting 24-hour multi-city tour.

El Milagro:

The amazing film El Milagro is a documentary about a Peruvian town where the only jobs that exist for adults and children involve digging for items in the gargantuan landfill on the edge of town.

The Oregon Independent Film Festival is pleased to have our Portland, Oregon screenings at Cinema 21 & Clinton Street Theater, and to be hosted in Eugene, Oregon by the legendary Bijou Art Cinemas & new Bijou Metro Theaters downtown.

The OIFF Film Festival Program Guide with our full film schedule including specific film & event tickets will be published and available online after August 20th each year. Please check back for festival and event updates, as we approach the festival opening day.
